We eat produce non-stop in this house and while we eat the GOOD stuff, we want to make sure we're not accidentally eating the "not so good" stuff with it. I'm talking about pesticides, dirt and bacteria.
I was dumbfounded to learn that even the organic produce I was buying wasn't as squeaky clean as I thought it was. According to Scientific American, it "turns out that there are over 20 chemicals commonly used in the growing and processing of organic crops that are approved by the US Organic Standards. And, shockingly, the actual volume usage of pesticides on organic farms is not recorded by the government". WOAH.
What's worse, the EWG's 2021 Shopper's Guide notes that 90% of non-organic citrus fruit (ya know, like our oranges) contain fungicides linked to cancer and hormone disruption.
So what do we do?
We wash our produce in Thieves Fruit & Veggie Soak. 1 capful in a bowl of water, soak 2 minutes, rinse and ENJOY! It's grossly satisfying to see all the icky stuff that falls off of our produce after a gentle wash. It combines three exclusive Young Living essential oil blends with other naturally derived ingredients to effectively wash your produce. And it’s highly concentrated for long-lasting use. A bottle of this lasts us MONTHS!
